Downing College Maths with Physics, Cambridge

I will be applying to Maths with Physics next year at Cambridge, applying to Downing College. Course-wise I know they offer slightly more lenient applications for STEP grades. More personally Downing college was beautiful and a place where I could see myself. Has anyone got any input or advice about Downing College, be it course-wise or as a college in general?

I am aware that alot of info is available online but moreso looking for experiences than objective information.

Thank you!!

Is downing really more lenient on step? Id expect it to be similar to "not trinity" colleges where you get in if you get 1/1 in step 2/3 and sometimes they relax the a level or step grades slightly for offer holders if they need to make up the numbers a bit and youre almost there.

Apart from that, seems a decent place to apply to, but there again most colleges are.

They are apart of the flexible offer scheme which can offer based on extenuating circumstances.

Depending on individual circumstances, some Colleges1 may make an A level applicant an offer that will be met if they achieve EITHER A*A*A with at least a grade 1 in STEP 2 and 3, OR A*A*A* with at least a grade 1 in just one of the two STEP papers taken. This is a ‘Widening Participation’ offer and is used especially for applicants from groups that have had to overcome significant educational disruption and/or socio-economic disadvantage, and who do not have access from their school to specific support to prepare for STEP. Whether they use the 'flexible offer' or not, all Colleges encourage applications from well-qualified students from groups that are currently under-represented and/or disadvantaged, and are prepared to be flexible. You can find more information about how the University uses contextual data here.
