Hello,
I start University in September, I’m studying Adult Nursing. I’m looking to buy a laptop but have no clue what to even look for. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you

Your university course website page should have a section on minimum system requirements. If not, you can contact your department or the IT department and let them know what course you are taking and they will advise.

For example: https://www.uwe.ac.uk/study/it-services/choosing-it-equipment-for-university

Oh I didn’t know you could get in touch with IT for advice. Thank you so much for this information, it’s much appreciated!

What's your budget? Will you be using your laptop for anything besides your course?

There are used laptops that can be bought from ebay or facebook marketplace for under £200 that comfortably exceed the "Intensive Specification" on that website. 😁

The main thing to decide is what sized laptop will be best for Kelbright321. Bigger screen = nicer to work on. Smaller screen = more easily portable.
What's easy to carry for a rugby prop forward will not be easy to carry for someone with a dainty build.
14" is a good compromise for most students with average strength and stamina levels.

In the workplace for district nurses, 12.5" or 13.3" Windows laptops are standard issue due to the laptop being only part of the kit that nurses tend to carry around. So that portability is prioritised over screen size.
