Conditional to Unconditional

how long does it take to get an unconditional after meeting conditions?!?
for a little background, I am an international student from the US. I've recently graduated from my high school and have received my final transcript. I sent my final transcript on May 22 early in the morning and I was wondering how long it takes for a conditional offer to be changed to an unconditional offer, I've already firmed Glasgow so I was curious how long it usually takes.

Hi @ruthannnoelette!!
You’ll either receive your unconditional offer letter mid-August, aligning with the day other students get theirs, or you’ll receive it soon, either this month or next. This is because you should be able to receive an early decision letter if you have already shown to them that you meet the conditions.

Hi @ruthannnoelette

How are you doing?

As this is a live application, you would need to submit an enquiry directly with our admissions team. You can do this here -https://www.gla.ac.uk/study/enquire/

Just something to point out:

Are all the mandatory items on your checklist complete?

Have they all been approved?

This tends to be the most common reason as to why an offer hasn't turned unconditional.

However, if you submit an enquiry, the team will be best placed to advise on how to progress 😃

Hi, totally unrelated, but I haven't done research into studying abroad, but how was the application process as a US student applying to Glasgow?

Hi,
Thank you so much for asking. In my experience, the application process as a US student applying to UK schools, such as Glasgow, is preferred compared to the US application process. I say this because in the US, the application process is very extracurricular-based, and your scores/grades aren't as strong, and as someone who was only allowed to focus on school during high school, applying to UK schools was a breath of fresh air. The UK application is simple, on UCAS you have 5 schools to choose from (so make sure your USA grades are enough to get in because you have limited options), and the personal statement is nothing like the USA personal statement, where you have to give a whole life story. In the UK personal statement, you simply write about why you are applying to your course/major and why you are qualified to do so.

Honorable mention: To submit your application on UCAS, it is only $35 for all five schools in comparison to the $60+ fees it is to apply to one USA school on the Common App.

I do recommend evaluating what areas you would like to live in the UK or other international areas and their safety environment, along with how expensive it is (even though UK schools tend to be cheaper than you avg. USA school).

My final advice is to put yourself out there, please do cast your net out wide. Do both apply to both USA schools and UK schools. This not only gives you more options of schools you could attend, but it also gives you security if you don't get into any UK schools.

Good luck on your research and journey, hope all goes well!!!
