Not getting grade req for uni

Hi all
I have applied to UO Leicester for Psychology with an 120 tariff point offer.
I am currently doing my exams and well.. I guess i am stressing out about not meeting my offer. I really loved the open day for Leicester as well.

If I dont meet it, do you think there would be any leniency for accepting me onto the course?

Thank you

There might be, only way to find out is on results day. Depends on the course, but Leicester isn't that competitive so I'd expect there to be a chance (obviously depends how much you miss it by)

Hello,

Do not stress, right nown you cannot be sure just how well things are going because you have not yet had your results back nor is the exam season over yet. One of the things I love about Leicester is that they give students a chance and so in the worst case scenario that you don't get in through the main cycle you should always call our clearing call centre as we may be able to help.

I hope this helps. If you have any questions or anything at all please do not hesitate to let me know.

Hi!
Firstly, well done on getting an offer from Leicester in the first place, that's a great achievement in itself.
And it's perfectly natural to feel stressed during exam season, especially with a specific offer always in the back of your mind.

While there is no way for me to predict how likely 'leniency' may be or how leicester considers it, some factors that I have been told affect leniency in general are:
-How competitive the course is
-How close you actually were to the required grades
-Predicted grades and personal statement

That said, the best idea is to directly reach out to Leicester's admissions team directly.
They'll be able to give you the most accurate guidance on what they might consider for leniency.🤔

You may also want to ask if they provide a summer school preferabbly or foundation year for students who just narrowly missed out on the grades but still want to do that exact course. And if it's just leicester uni itself you really like, not the course itself that much, then you could always ask about similar courses that are less competitive or have lower grade boundaries for acceptance.

But at the end of the day, there isn't much you can do to affect leniency at this stage, so the best thing you can do is to keep doing your best, take it one step at a time, and hey, you might surprise yourself on results day! 😁
