Things to do in Norwich during the Summer Break! Part 1: Indoors

Hi there! I'm Charlotte, a Year 2 Graphic Design student at Norwich Uni Arts. Now that we've hit June and we're officially on summer break - I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to write about some fun things to do in our lovely city. With some students going back to their family homes over this break, and others staying in Norwich for most of the duration, it can be a strange time organising things to do with friends who have stayed - so hopefully I can help! This post will focus solely on indoor activities, however keep your eyes peeled for an outdoors blog too

First of all, I would like to mention Riverside Entertainment. Within the Riverside complex of Norwich, you can find a few different places to go including: Hollywood Bowl, Mulligan's, Odeon and Gravity. Hollywood Bowl offers a fun bowling experience with great food and drinks, an amusements area and plenty of student deals to keep an eye out for! This is my personal favourite bowling location in Norwich. Mulligan's is an indoor 18-hole crazy golf with drinks available and other games such as shuffleboard and pool - a great party venue! Gravity is an indoor trampolining park, with some incredible half price student deals at certain times and is a fun place to go with a group of friends.

Secondly, Castle Quarter shopping centre is also home to the Castle Quarter Entertainment Floor, housing VUE cinema with their new recliner seating, Boom Battle Bar, ArrowHeadz, Drive Lounge, Escape Hunt, Hotpod Yoga, SI5 Spy Missions, Retro Replay Arcade and Gaming Lounge, PuttPutt Social and Superbowl UK. Whilst I haven't had the chance to personally visit every single one of these - I have heard some great things about them and look forward to getting around them all.

And finally, my last mention goes to Dotty Pottery at White House Farm. This one does require a short drive or a bus to get to unlike all of the above which are just short walks away around the city, however this one is very worth it! Dotty Pottery must be booked in advance, but is the perfect place to paint pottery locally. I have been here twice now and have loved each visit. The staff are lovely and there is a small cafe opposite where you can get some food or drinks to take in with you. A fun, wholesome activity to do with friends.

There are definitely a lot more things that you can do in Norwich of course, however these are my highlights and personal favourites. I hope you have fun exploring Norwich over the summer months!
