Anyone at SOAS studying Foundation Year SSAH or completed it?

Hi,

Just wanted to ask about any students preparing to study Foundation Year Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, or completed the year and now onto First Year. I was looking at the modules and they are incredibly vague! I'm trying to create a reading list for the Foundation Year but the modules are so woolly it's hard to figure out how to even prepare. If anyone has experience with this foundation year, or is starting (we can become a little social group!) then please share your thoughts on the SSAH course!! Thank you

Hi there,

You can speak to SOAS students on Unibuddies. It's a great place to ask all your university-related queries.

But just generally speaking, it is great that you are looking to get ahead but there is no need to prepare this well in advance. You will gain access to your Moodle page as soon as you enrol around September and that will give you one month to prepare. For the majority of students that is more than enough time. The courses are designed so that you can complete them during the academic year so you will be able to manage the workload.

I hope this helps! Any questions please feel free to ask.
