How topics work
History at university is fantastic, and I can't recommend it enough if you're as nerdy about it as I am. Although the university rankings are really helpful as a guide for where you should study, it's important that you check the universities you like are doing topics you like!
It all depends on the staff working there and what specialities they have; for example, Edge Hill has Medieval, Victorian, American and Middle Eastern specialised historians, (among more!) which means that the modules are concerning those topics! I just wanted to advise that you look at the topics as part of your research because in some ways, I think that's more important than the generic rankings.
