TSA or TMUA

Hi guys,

This autumn I will be applying to either Oxford or Cambridge for their E&M and Pure Econ course, little info I am predicted A*A*A in Maths Economcis and Further maths respectively. Having read upon both the TSA exam and the Tmua they both appear to be difficult ( expected) but my question is out of the two which would be most strategical to take. I have a strong background in mathematics so tmua seems like the logical step, but I honestly prefer the E&M course Oxford has too offer. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Do the course that interests you most. The workload at Oxford is intense and it makes a big difference to thriving there if you are studying what you actually enjoy and feel motivated by

Cambridge has 10 applicants per place for BA Economics, and Oxford has around 19 applicants per place for Economics & Management. Also, Oxford ask for A*AA with an A in Maths, and Cambridge asks for A* in Maths. Both courses are competitive for admission, but the TSA is arguably easier than the TMUA by far. I would go for Cambridge if you want to study Economics or Economics & Management, if you don't mind studying Management as well.

Have you made your decision on the TMUA for Cambridge and LSE? 😧

Probably Cambridge so you can focus more on the TMUA, rather than having two assessments to do.

E&M is also much more competitive.
