A-level AQA Psychology paper 3

I have paper 3 on Monday next week, but I have no idea how I am going to learn all of the content for it. I take relationships, aggression and stress as my optional models. Does anyone know how to structure 16 markers for issues and debates, and possibly have some good example answers? Also, any advice on learning all the content very quickly, as I was taught it pretty quickly?

hi!! for issues and debates i literally learnt it in one day - so boring. But a tip is, all the topics have examples from previous case studies and experimental research which makes it so much easier and you can use them as evaluation. I’ll give you an example: For Reductionism vs Holism -

Biological Reductionism: reduces behaviour to physiological levels
e.g., Meta-analysis of 14 twin studies, investigating OCD - found monozygotic (identical twins who share 100% of genes) were 2x more likely to develop OCD vs. Dizygotic (non-identical twins who share 50% of genes) if co-twin had OCD

Environmental Reductionism: explains Behavior in terms of stimulus-response links - learned through association
e.g., Behaviourists reduce ATTACHMENT: to stimulus-response link - mother is conditioned stimulus associated with unconditioned stimulus of pleasure.

- see how i linked biological and environmental reduction to examples of OCD and ATTACHMENT which we have already studied, so just use past topics.

good luck xxx i hope this helps - genuinely I was in the same boat as you for paper 2

I have the same paper and I’m in the same boat too. I can suggest starting a free trial on up-learn as they have some video lessons with some of the sections you take like relationships. I would try make a list of what you are completely blanking on so you can revise that first. Repetition is always good too. Maybe you could ask a friend to cover some of the content and you teach each other, that way you’re not just reading but also explaining to someone that you understand the content. As for essays maybe there are examples online? But just keep in mind that AO1 is usually 6 marks and AO3 is usually 10 marks. I know it’s a lot of content to learn but for AO3 you can sometimes make it up on the spot like in relationships some studies use self report techniques like questionnaires, this can lead people to being dishonest…. Good luck to your exam, and don’t forget to take breaks or go on a walk if everything just feels too overwhelming.

Read the information to yourself. Find summary sheets online (I suggest the app Knowunity) and just read it over and over to yourself. Read it in funny voices or pretend you’re teaching a class, that way you explain it as you’re reading it and deepening your own knowledge.

This video is good, It goes through what questions have come up ever (8 or 16 markers). I may have to rely on his predictions if I don't finish my revision 😬
