Hey there! I am a year 13 and I have firmed my Law offer for Durham this year. I was just like you as I knew I wanted to do Durham Law from pretty young. I took English Literature (which is a huge help for law), Economics, Religious Studies, and an EPQ at A Level. I have so many tips and would love to help answer any questions if you have any?

OMG HII!! I'm actually the same. I'm in Year 11 and I also really want to study Law at Durham. I've chose English literature, economics, spanish and French - so if u have any tips on law that would be great! also what r your opinions on Econ and lit?

nah i go to a private school, but on like four scholarships haha. i have undiagnosed dyscalculia which explains my maths grade; im v symptomatic but just cba to get tested.

as for bristol, i'm not sure. durham has no minimum maths grade so i applied anyway, but i didnt apply to bristol. happy to answer any more qs you have!

GCSE’s: 556666669 (5s were in chem and physics, 7 was in drama).
A-level subjects: sociology, psychology, English language.
Also, thank you so much I’m not feeling so confident x

thank you so much i rlly appreciate it! At the moment i have chosen maths, history and politics and an epq but i am thinking of switching economics for history. Do you think that would be a bad choice?

Immediately, without knowing your GCSE predicted grades, I would advise you take english literature. If that is not an option grades-wise, then history is a great pick for law lots of people do it. I did economics because it made me more well-rounded but you are taking maths so you don't need to differentiate.

Those are some great choices, I am biassed of course. English Lit is perfect for law, really put lots of effort into that grade, it is important. Economics is great to differentiate your profile, so I would stick with that. My advice would be to pick one of Spanish or French, four a-levels is overrated, they only care about 3 of your grades so it would be much better to do well in 3 than just ok in 4.
