how capped is my source question? (a level politics)

i just sat paper 2 of edexcel a level politics and i finished the question as normal, but i only referred to the source 2/3 times per paragraph, and didn't refer to the source for all my points - how capped would i be realistically/how many marks would i lose? - my answers are normally around the 20-24 mark

I need you to clarify - do you mean main points or counterpoints.

I referred to the source for both but what I mean is in some cases I didn’t refer to what it was explicitly saying so I’d almost Twist the meaning to what I wanted to talk about - for example I quoted democratic accountability to all devolved bodies and then spoke about how this would lead to greater representation through policies which cater to the population

Even if I used the quote from the source to make the point? - so saying democratic accountability means that England would have a body accountable to them in policy making?

Apologies bit vague of me - I meant the bit where you twisted it.

I meant like I used the quote but to what I wanted to say almost - like it still made sense in context of what I said if that makes sense?

According to edexcel if you did exactly that then you are capped at level 2. Sorry mate.

I don’t mean I did that every time - so I’m assuming just on those ones then I wouldn’t be credited? More of my points were directly from the source than not without having to be twisted

Just focus on the next paper.

I’m sure you will be fine? You don’t have to explicitly state the source, I double checked with my teacher before paper 1 and as long as what you’re saying is relevant to the source you’ll be fine.
