Interview request after getting a conditional offer from Cambridge MPhil Education

I just wanted you guys to give me advice because I received a message from the Cambridge admissions office today saying that:

> “Professor Nidhi Singal would like to interview you on Wednesday 11th June at 9am UK time via Zoom. This interview will last approximately 20 minutes. No preparation is needed. The aim of this interview is to understand your motivation and readiness for the programme.” ( I’m gonna major in MPhil Education, Globalisation and international development)
>

Since Professor Singal is the Head of Faculty and I didn’t take an interview for application, I have to admit I’m feeling pretty nervous and upset,,,

Is there possibility that I will be rejected even after getting a conditional offer from Cambridge? and has anyone experienced the same interview or similar interview with her? Typically what do professors ask during the interview?

thanks

What were the other conditions of your offer?

Thanks for your response. Well, 1. GPA, which slight falls and 2. Financial certificate for my scholarship ( I’m gonna submit in the middle of June)

Do you mean your GPA is slightly falling below the requirement?

Yes! Mine is 3.55 out of 4 and Cambridge requirement is 3.8 out of 4.0

It may be to gauge your fit for the course. If you do well at interview but you slightly miss the offer condition then the faculty can still choose to enrol you in the course. I know of Cambridge postgrads who have missed their condition (by a small margin) but still been accepted at the discretion of the faculty. Note that I study Economics, so I'm not sure if Education does things differently.
