does university of leicester care about epq ?

i did an epq (i got like an A or B depending on the grade boundaries) and i mentioned this on my ucas but my offer from uni of leicester didnt acknowledge it at all and i got the usual offer for their law course (AAB) even though i thought epqs can give you a slightly reduced offer? does uol not care about epqs then? i emailed their admissions about this 3 days ago but they havent gotten back to me. any thoughts?

Leicester's entry requirements (stated here) for Law LLB are:

"A-levels: AAB. General Studies accepted
EPQ with A-levels: ABB + EPQ at grade B"

I would therefore expected you to receive an an offer states the conditions as above: "AAB or ABB if EPQ at grade B". The fact that you haven't suggests that something has gone wrong. You say you "mentioned this on my ucas" - was is actually listed in the qualifications section as a pending qualification?

If you don't hear back from their admissions team, call them.

Hello @zuzdu

I am sorry about this. Leicester do like EPQs and I would greatly recommend them to anyone considering coming to university, as they prepare you for higher education much better than any A Levels. When it comes to your offer, it would have been made very much having taken all the circumstances into account. Therefore, if you are predicted higher grades, then they will be less likely to give you the reduced EPQ offer. However, if this is the case but you didn't get the grades you were predicted, it may be then when they consider your EPQ.

As a Leicester student, I had the same situation when I applied. I was doing an EPQ but was predicted high grades throughout and so I just got the standard offer. I hope this helps. If you have any further questions please do let me know. Hopefully, you should hear from our admissions team very soon.
