X-Ray results, am I worrying?

I’ve been having issues with my chest recently so the doctor sent me for an X-Ray. I had it last week and today my doctors surgery rang for me to make a phone appointment for Monday afternoon to discuss the results with my doctor.

This made me worry slightly so I asked the receptionist if she can tell me what’s in the report, she had she can’t but she can tell me the notes on the report which are they are satisfactory and the doctor just wants a routine appointment to discuss them?

Should I take this as a good sign and stop worrying there’s something seriously wrong?

If your X-ray results were reported as "satisfactory" by your doctor notes when they received them back, it generally means the results are within the normal ranges and nothing to worry about. The receptionist can only tell you what the doctor comments were as not allowed to discuss any further as reasons why GP wants to see you.

Your doctor is wanting to discuss with you the results and give you reassurance that everything is ok with the x-ray. It's a good sign so don't worry as if it was something wrong they would have had you seen quicker 😔.

See what they say on Monday.

My girlfriend has told me too that if something was seriously wrong they wouldn’t discuss it over the phone either.

Do you think it’s likely that a receptionist would describe the results as satisfactory and the appointment as routine if there was something seriously wrong?

I do work as a registered nurse so I wouldn't be worried about it ☺️ ☺️ ☺️ satisfactory means everything is basically okay but your doctor wants to talk to you about whatever it is.

Receptionist can only tell you what the doctor has written on the results and then tell you that the doctor wishes to talk to you.
