Nursing health checks diabetes

Hi, I’m applying for children’s nursing & im type 1 diabetic. Anyone else out there been through the medical checks for diabetes - do they check your HBA1c? Thanks

Yes, they often check your HbA1c to see how well your diabetes is managed. As long as it’s reasonably controlled and you can safely care for patients, it shouldn’t be a barrier. Good luck with your application!

I’m Type 2 but it’s not been mentioned about checking my HBA1C? I did tell Occupational Health what my last one was but only to demonstrate it’s well controlled.
