KCL or RHUL for English degree?

Hello everyone,

I have finished 180 credits at the Open University (part time and I worked and paid the fees) in English language and literature, and I applied KCL and RHUL for Year 2 entry.

RHUL accepted me for Year 2, however KCL offered me only Year 1 entry. I really wanted KCL as it is quite prestigious and modules are more focused on linguistics rather than literature, but I also do not want to bin all efforts and money I have paid for the OU so far… Also I am worried to start from scratch, as I am 24 years old.

I am planning to do my post graduate somewhere else in Europe. So which option could be more practical for me?

Thank you for your ideas in advance.

Which course do you prefer? If that's KCL, then an extra year is worth it, especially as that may help you consolidate previous study etc, and enable you to feel like you belong on that course than joining in Year 2. There is no point in accepting RHUL if its not actually the course you want to do. And btw, being 24 wont be an issue - at Uni no-one actually cares how old you are, and there will be plenty of other older students in their 30s, 40s and often older.
