AQA A Level Psychology Paper 3 (7182/3) - 9th June 2025

Does anyone know any good revision resources for the cognition and development option? Uplearn doesn’t have anything and I don’t think many people take this option. Thanks :smile:

Try Gizmo for AO1, or because it's linked with English Language, you can find a few videos on Youtube, I recommend the channel 'Sprouts'. C&D isn't too content heavy, but I suggest looking at the Physics and Maths tutor website because it will have Powerpoints, videos and past papers to complete with the mark scheme :smile:

I/D : Maria is a successful gymnast. Her mother was also an athlete and encouraged Maria throughout her childhood, taking her to practice sessions before school from the age of 5 years. Maria is being interviewed about her success as a gymnast. In the interview she says, ‘I don’t know if I am like my mum or not. Wherever it came from, I always had a strong motivation to succeed. Maybe I didn’t really have much choice. I was destined to be a gymnast.’ Discuss determinism in psychology. Refer to Maria in your answer.

Sz: Jade has been diagnosed with schizophrenia. Her parents tell her they care about her but also complain that she is too dependent. They watch Jade closely, criticising her behaviour, and often argue about how they should treat her. Jade says her mother makes her feel uncomfortable and unloved, almost as if she was a stranger. Discuss family dysfunction as an explanation for schizophrenia. Refer to Jade in your answer.

Relationships: No 16 markers but 2 8 markers Discuss the matching hypothesis. [8 marks] & Outline and evaluate the role of sexual selection in human reproductive behaviour. [8 marks]

Forensics: Vera has a bad temper and has been in and out of prison many times. She is currently in prison for assault. The prison governor is keen to rehabilitate prisoners like Vera. Prison officers manage Vera’s temper through a system of rewards for good behaviour. To help with long-term reform, they try to give her strategies for managing her own behaviour in the outside world; Vera attends regular therapy classes and writes about situations when she has lost her temper. Discuss one or more ways of dealing with offending. Refer to Vera in your answer.

I ran out of time in my AQA Psychology exam and didn’t get a chance to write the question numbers for the last part of my answers. The invigilator wouldn’t let me finish writing them once time was up. Is it a serious problem people are telling me i need to go to my head of exams and notify them????

YES YOU DO. YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN ALLOWED!!! I was allowed!!! You gotta speak to someone thats messed up!!!!!!

FR WHO THE HECK PUTS 3x 16 MARKERS?!? Luckily it was the 16 / 8 markers I predicted for Aggression and Issues and Debates, but still man, flipping 2x 8 markers, 3x 16 markers?? That's legit like 4x 16 markers?? Idk how someone without extra time can do that

No I'm actually so freaked out by that. I've never seen 5 ESSAY QUESTIONS in a psych paper before. I had extra time and still had 16 marks worth of questions untouched. I'm damn terrified right now.

Distribution were 2 of the questions and 2 were on motor skills? And one was 8 marker idiographic approach any of them????

These were the questions :biggrin:

(Insert this dude called Dan talking with his partner Mike about how he couldn't leave Mike for someone else after being together for 10 years, and how they have good memories from holidays with friends, then Mike says fr man like we've got a house, saved money and so much stuff together and who's gonna look after the cats)
Explain Rusbults investment model using Mike and Dans relationship (4 marks).

Briefly evaluate absence of gating in virtual relationships (4 marks).

Discuss Filter theory for this example of this girl called Joy who lived in Essex, has an economics degree, likes to cycle to work because of the environment, likes to cook, likes to walk. And wants a partner who likes to eat food n who is practical to help around the house cause she's not. (16 marks).

Icl everyone ran out of time or found the paper tricky in general. Remember grade boundaries will probably be in Hell. You’ll be fine praying for an A* for you
