The way I wanted to walk out of the exam, paper 1 and 2 better save me

Yeah I feel the exact same lol. Praying P1 and P2 rescue my grade. Though boundaries should be much lower (at least I'm thinking).

2019, 2022, 2020 also had 5 essay Qs for paper 3. But even then, if you look at the questions, it was three 8 markers and two 16 markers. Not only did we have 5 essay questions, but we had two 8 markers and three 16 markers.

If you compare the boundaries with 2018, 2021, 2023, 2024 P3 which all had 4 essay Qs, you get:

P3 2024: (A* = 77%)(A = 70%)(B = 57%)
P3 2023: (A* = 78%)(A = 71%)(B = 57%)
P3 2022: (A* = 70%)(A = 61%)(B = 49%)
P3 2021: (No boundaries??)
P3 2020: (A* = 70%)(A = 61%)(B = 49%)
P3 2019: (A* = 69%)(A = 59%)(B = 49%)
P3 2018: (No boundaries again)

Anyway, I'm hoping I'm not coping when I daresay there's a pattern.

2018's would be (A* = 74%)(A = 67%)(B = 58%)

So yeah that supports the pattern at least.

Considering that we were part of a 5 long answer paper, and that historically boundaries have been ~10% lower for them, that's something. But also, we had three 16s and two 8s, which iirc is the first time that's ever happened since the 2015 spec change, as it's always ever been three 8s and two 16s on the case that there are 5 long answers. So that says boundaries could be even lower than the 70/A*. Then again, boundaries are meant to INCREASE this year, so probably evens back out.

Heck idk.

I think they'll probably stay the same or get slightly lower, bc paper 1 and 2 were easier than last years but I think this paper balances it out.

Yeah agreed. I think P3 will probs dip down by ~10% given the balancing of the 8/16 question split, but P1 and P2 will rise maybe like 3-5% each. So yeah, probs only a couple % drop / nothing changes.

Grade boundaries won’t fall, they always go up every year and this year won’t be any different, especially since p1/2 was easy

Interesting take, my psych teacher said she thinks they’ll drop bc the papers have been abit wishwashy and also our generation just hasn’t got a clue so i hope she’s right

It really depends, for other subjects like chemistry last year grade boundaries went down, but yeah I don't think it'll be very likely this year for psych

I am so scared I think I did awful cuz I only did like 2 evaluations for 2 of the 16 markers and 3 for one, what sort of mark could I get max with that? One 16 marker I did one and it wa on moral reasoning I said it’s not generalisable to other cultures. But the other papers were fine so I hope I can still get a B

i think 2 detailed evaluations would be okay if it was a application one

I have no clue, do you think they'll increase a lot from last year?

Hello,

When it comes to GCSE and A Level grade boundaries, they change each year based on the performance of all candidates. Therefore, if the whole country found this years' exams much more challenging, then it is highly likely that the grade boundaries may be lower.

I hope this helps, if you have any further questions please do let me know (I'm a previous Psychology student).

For an A on this paper I'm gonna predict maybe 63/96?
