uni of leeds

hii

could anyone that is or was a student at uni of leeds let me know how they found it? im hoping to study film studies there through clearing in september! i originally was going to york and i love the gothic vibe of the city there, but ive always wanted to go to a big city like leeds. there are also more societies at leeds, more opportunities like study abroad destinations and the uni is bigger in general than york which i think i'd like. im really indecisive and keep worrying i'll make the wrong decision though :frown:

Hey I went to York. It’s a smaller campus and you’re not in the city centre. Leeds has more opportunities in general and you’ll meet more people with similar interests as you. Plus there are so many more students in Leeds. I know a few of my friends that have worked with Leeds Beckett and Leeds trinity students on projects. Where as York is a little isolated and you don’t really get to know the people at St John’s.

Just popping into this thread to point out that relying upon a particular course at a particular uni to be in Clearing can lead to disappointment.

Film Studies wasn't in Clearing at Leeds last year. Modern Languages and Film Studies was, but not Film Studies itself. I'm referring to UK applicants here (which is what I assume you are), as Film Studies was in Clearing for international applicants. (Their fees are higher, so universities prefer them.)

Obviously things could be different this year. :crossedf:
