Hi guys, I am someone who is striving to be a Patent Attorney and although it says online that a STEM degree is perfect for this role (which as a result, should include Maths), I'm not 100% sure if I would be a valid and employable candidate? Would firms hire me with just a Maths degree at undergraduate? Would I have to do a Masters/PhD in Maths to be valid? Or is Maths not acceptable for Patent firms? I would really appreciate any advice thrown at me tbh because personally, I'm super confused. It's not like I do not enjoy science - I really wouldn't mind doing a science degree, but I feel like I enjoy doing Maths a lot more, so naturally it would be a better fit. Of course, if it clashes with my career option (which is practically set in stone) I will have to let it go and do Science/Engineering which I know I can also do well in. So overall, are Maths/Maths+Physics joint degrees a good route into intellectual property and patent law?
