Eligibility for Student Finance

Hello, not sure if anyone can help me please. I’m looking at going to university next year but questioning my eligibility. I had applied for the open university a number of times and ended up cancelling within the first few months due to poor mental health, I didn’t ever incur any fee liability & I didn’t ever receive any money from student finance. I’m worried my previous study” would affect my eligibility? ( please note , I didn’t actually ever study towards these , I was just enrolled and ended up cancelling)
Thanks for your help.
Mollie

Hi Mollie, if you have applied but never attended the course or received any payments from ourselves, then this will not impact your ability to apply for further student finance. Only when payments have been issued (tuition fees, mainenance loan or grants) would this class as a year used from your entitlement. So if you have always cancelled the applications prio to the course starting and no payment were ever made, then you will be fine to make your new application. Thanks, Stephen.

Hi , I didn’t always cancel right before the start of the course, but did las promptly as possible and didn’t incur any fees & definitely didn’t claim any money from student finance , but is it also true that part time previous study that didn’t end in qualification doesn’t count for student finance purposes anyway? Because this course was at the open university I have heard that this is classed as part time even though I was going to study “full time” thanks.

Hi Mollie, the mode of study is classed as part time due to the course being a disatnce learning course, however you can study at a full time intensity on the part time applicaiton. This will be confirmed by the university. Stephen.
