Burnout

Any advice pls! I'm totally burnt out. I've been like this for about 2 months now and I didn't notice it was burnout until recently. I have 7 A level exams left within the two upcoming weeks. I need AAB for my uni offer but I'm losing hope. Any way I can fight through and study for the last two weeks? idk what to do :frown:

I totally get you! The first step is always just to acknowledge that you're burnt out. I'm also burnt out, and I have a rubbish attention span for focus. Honestly, it depends on your subjects - i do chem phys and maths. For Chem and Phys I tend to watch youtube videos, and take breaks every so often. When watching the youtube videos I pause after a bit and try to recite what has been said and repeat. I also did a couple of past paperss to just see what areas I need work on, and watch in depth videos for those. My main adivce, is to have a rough guide/ timetable for eaxh day but make sure that it's actually realistic - because if you dont meet those goals you wont feel particularly great. I would just say to pace yourself, and more importantly ensure that when you take breaks that you're not watching tiktok etc. I personally like to leave my study room and do random stuff to relax, like crochet. But make sure you believe in yourself, there is a reason why you got a Uni space - you deserve it. Let me know if i can help with any subject stuff though, I'd be happy to help!)

Thank you so much! We're in a very similar boat I do bio chem and physics. I did all past papers for physics and I ask my teacher about questions I get stuck on, but lately the stuff just isn't really sinking in for any of the subjects I think bc I'm just overwhelmed. I'm also worried about inorganic chem bc I keep forgetting all the equations, tests, transition metals and aqueous ion bits (AQA) and idk how that paper will go.. tbh tho I do need to make my timetable more realistic - I keep having the feeling that I don't know anything and I push myself to cover entire contents knowing very well I won't make it in one day and then I worry that I didn't do enough. I'll also use the idea of leaving my workspace for breaks - sounds like a smart idea! I really can't wait until this is finally over! Thanks for the reply - it made me feel a bit better

Haha so real, transition metals are really cooking me over too. I cant lie to you, its looking like ill have to cram all of chem in after physics tomorrow. The only thing getting me through this is the thought of summer after exams hahaha. I'm always here if you need anything girl, keep your head up queen

hii i totally get that sometimes as much as there is a huge pressure to revise sometimes taking a good break can really help like spend half of the day doing something fun and then teh rest of teh day uu can do some studying or if u have a study group or friends u can study with it can help as often with burnout i would just zone out when i was studying so studying in groups can help keep you engaged good luck with all ur exams hope u get the grades!!!

Thanks so much really appreciated! I don't really think I have anyone who I could study together with (if I did with my close friend we would end up doing nothing 😂) but I have been trying to use study buddies online - tbf it does kinda help even though it's not exactly the same. I'm also trying to add in small things I enjoy into my study breaks and I think I'll do like half a day of rest tmrw after my exam and get back on track
