Thoughts on Genetic Engineering?

Hello everyone, i'm doing my EPQ on genetic engineering and want to do a section of the views of the public... So what do you guys think? would it be something you'd consider? or have had done? No one will be mentioned its purely a baseline to take into account everyone's views? any and all opinions would be muchly appreciated!

OKAY HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII I LOVE UR EPQ IDEA AND WHEN I GET INTO A LEVELS I WANT TO DO SMTH EXACTLY LIKE THIS (but not this ofc) soooooooooooo my opinion is that it is not something that should be taken lightly. For example if we are going to do it to completely change a species (like the ear on mouse thing) then that should not be allowed as it could be seen as cruelty but say we're doing it to help society for example make food longer lasting or healthier or less prone to being eaten by animals then yes that's alright. however the fact does remain that if we allow it, will people remember the limits?
