IB Apprenticeships

Not exactly apprenticeship season at the moment but can anyone clarify whether a stand a chance landing one given my A-Levels are DDE. By the time the roles open I would've spent months working on my CV, things to add onto it and doing general research of the industry. Stage 1 will probably be the largest hurdle given my application might get auto screened out but I'm just looking for anecdotes and what you've heard personally so I can understand my situation like say someone landed one or atleast got through with lower grades than asked for eg. entry - BBB, person - BCC

Honestly I think it would be quite hard for you as most apprenticeships require at least 96 UCAS points and most companies don’t even go forward with the application if those minimum requirements aren’t met. However if you were to make it to a final stage and you were up against someone with better grades I don’t think they really take grades into account at that point they are more impressed by experience and skills you have not necessarily the grades because the subjects you’ve taken might not even have anything to do with the position.
I think there are very few apprenticeship schemes at investment banks involving front of house roles in the first place, and I suspect competition for them is extremely high. Therefore I doubt DDE is going to be sufficient.

I would look into other career sectors, or going into IB via a different route e.g. starting in accountancy.
