The Student Room Group

Ucl accomodation

I'm attending UCL next year and have been allocated The Garden Halls, does anybody know anything about these halls? Are they social? Is it mainly UCL students etc?

I was at Garden Halls last year and am going to be a resident advisor there next year. I would say Gardens is long and away the best hall of residence available for UCL students.

The largest contingent is UCL student, followed by KCL, then LSE and SOAS. I feel the competitive environment is highly enriching.

The social aspect is more complex because the main halls are catered. This makes things different as we eat in a hall, so you’ll most likely make friends at lunch or dinner. However, because it’s catered, you don’t really share a kitchen in the traditional sense, so you won’t have roommates per se.

Hope this helps. Feel free to ask any more questions.

Hi I am an undergraduate student who has just recieved an offer for a single ensuite at New Hall for £308.98 per week.
I would prefer a single ensuit closer to the bloomsbury campus, preferrably John Adams Hall, Astor, John Dodgson House.
I am willing to pay up to £340 - £350 per week for rent.
Please contact me if you would like to swap!
