Hi @Georginabxx

That's really exciting that you would like to study film. Are you hoping to study more of the behind-the-camera production side or in front-of-the-camera screen acting side or both?

Both are fantastic avenues! I am currently studying at the Theatre & Performance Practice degree down the road at the Uni of Salford, so although I can't comment on the Met Film School, I thought I would share some general advice.
If you can attend an Open Day, I would highly recommend it, because they give you the opportunity to:

🚶*♀️ Have a campus tour and explore the uni facilities.
📚️ Chat to current students and get an insight into student life on your chosen course.
🧑*🏫 Attend course talks and meet course tutors.
🏢 Explore accommodation options and the local area if applicable.
☺️ Speak to the student support services.
🎾 Check out extra-curricular opportunities e.g. international opportunities and societies.

Some universities offer a travel bursary to help cover your travel costs (like my uni) as the pennies can start to add up if your attending a few different open days.

At the University of Salford we do offer a variety of film courses including BA (Hons) Film Production and BA (Hons) Media & Performance I have included the links in case you wish to have a look. But in short film production covers all aspects of how to become an industry-standard filmmaker and Media & Performance teaches you how to perform in front and behind the camera consequently create, film, and perform in your own work, which is a fantastic skill in today's creative industry. In the final year performance students have the opportunity to audition for an Agents Showcase, this was partly why I chose to study at Salford myself and I had a great time performing in showcase!

If you are looking at a few different options it is worth making a list of pros and cons and I from my experience as a student I would say how you feel when you visit the university as it is really important you feel comfortable where you choose to study especially if you will be moving away from home for a minimum of three years.

I hope that helps a little. Fingers crossed some MetFilm School students can give you more specific advice.

Good luck with your studies!🍀
