Oxbridge/Imperial about EPQ

How do unis like Oxbridge and Imperial feel about doing an EPQ in a topic that doesn't relate to the subject you are applying to at all. Does that convey less interest or passion in the subject?

I don't see why it would bother them at all to be honest - from my experience they don't really care about epq at all. I did a completely unrelated epq and still got a cambridge offer  but obviously don't waste personal statement space on it if it's not relevant because oxbridge (and I presume imperial) do care a bit about those.

Thank you. I am still deciding between courses so I thought an EPQ might be a good way to decide. Would you mind sharing the course you got an offer for and roughly what topic your EPQ was about?

My offer was for medicine and my epq question was "to what extent is parental influence the greatest factor in determining our career choices?". Mine was also initially to help me decide between two courses (the other being physics and philosophy - my epq question had been more philosophy focused but it shifted towards the final question part way through) and so I think that is definitely a good idea
