Considering Nursing at the University of Liverpool?

Hi everyone! I'm planning to study Nursing and am particularly interested in universities with a strong student union, vibrant nightlife, and good sports facilities. I've heard great things about the University of Liverpool and would love to hear from current students or alumni about their experiences there. How does it compare to other universities in terms of campus life and support for nursing students? Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Liverpool is a great student city with lots going on. I'd strongly recommend that you book an open day so that you can work out if it is a good fit for you. Attend the subject talk for nursing and chat with staff and current students. Ask about placement locations and timings, how they are allocated, etc.

Hi there,

While I’m a student at Liverpool John Moores University, I can offer some insight into student life in Liverpool.

Student Union: The UoL Guild is fantastic and a hub for students across the city. The two main unis are so close that the whole area has a great student-focused feel. They have events specifically for UoL students and events such as the Great Pub Quiz open to students across all Liverpool universities which makes it easy to meet new people.

Sports: UoL is very well-equipped (their on-campus pool is a great example!)

Nightlife: There’s a lot of variety including traditional pubs, clubs and arcade bars. Here are some guides written by our students about their favourite places

Where can I go on a night out? https://link.unibuddy.co/unibuddy/oswmKqQ47JqdqKyQ9

My friend at UoL said that The Scholar is a good bar near campus.

I can't speak for UoL's nursing course, but to give you a feel for what studying nursing in Liverpool is like, you can see a ‘day in the life’ blog from one of our students here: https://link.unibuddy.co/unibuddy/kpgmVUT5PnnoBnuN6

You can also chat directly with our Nursing students to ask about their experience in the city: https://www.ljmu.ac.uk/study/undergraduate-students/chat-to-a-student

Hope this helps you get a better picture of Liverpool! Let me know if you have any other questions about the city.

Okay about sport: can anyone do sports and fitness or it's only members of the school team ?

Hi,
To use university sports facilities, you would typically need to purchase a gym membership which usually lasts a year. Then you can use the facilities during the opening hours. Not sure how much the membership is and what the opening times are - this is something you would have to check with UoL directly.

Joining sports teams is a different process and you would purchase a membership via the Student Union for the society/team you're interested in. This would cover the costs of training, equipment, BUCS competitions.
