59.69% ... can I get a 2:1?

Hi, I am in my final year and have got all my grades back, and my average is 59.69%. My uni's website says that those on the boundary can only achieve the higher grade if 2/3 of final year credits are the same or above the higher grade. However, only 1/2 of my final year modules are at a 2:1 and above. Is it still possible for me to get a 2:1 - I have mitigating circumstances that my uni is aware of, I am just worried that this won't be considered as I don't meet the 2/3 credit requirement Any help would be appreciated

What are you uni's regulations on rounding?

I’m assuming the only one is that if 2/3rds of your credits are at a 2:1, however only half of them are, so I think the only way would be ‘mitigating circumstances’

Not necessarily. If the uni first applies rounding then the OP will have 60 and therefore a 2.1. The rule about "2/3 credits at the higher level" is usually an alternative method of classification used for near misses, ie those still on 59+ or even 58+.

I can't see anything about rounding in the regulations. However, Appendix A states:

"2/3 of the credits¹ taken in the awarding academic year are equal to/higher than the final award (for example
if the student is in the boundary between a 2.1 and a first, 2/3 of the credits must be at 70% or higher to fulfill
this criteria and award the students a first class degree). The 2/3 credit may include credit at level 5 or 6."

https://documents.manchester.ac.uk/display.aspx%3FDocID%3D13147&ved=2ahUKEwjJ0eXiuemNAxW-BNsEHQthFMwQFnoECCQQAQ&sqi=2&usg=AOvVaw0Xoi8v-9c-9LHa7E0loC6x

So that means years 2 and 3, not just 3 - assuming the document is valid. Would that make a difference?
