fashion design

i accepted an offer at ravensbourne for fashion design but i'm not really sure how i feel about the uni. i accepted the offer as i really wanted to go to uni this year and i had to withdraw/ be withdrawn from my other applications (i can't really explain the situation without making this really long)

should i?
1. go into first year and just see how it is, if its not for me i can try to transfer to another uni if possible
2. try their foundation course, if i like it i can stay or try apply for other unis (only problem is that i'm currently doing a higher education course)
3. take a year off and reapply for other unis
4. risk it and wait for clearing
Generally it's not a great idea to start on a course you don't feel confident about and hope for a transfer. I assume by "doing a higher education course" you mean you've already used a year of funding (? either doing a foundation year or year 1 of a different degree somewhere else) so you would be short a year's funding if you did a foundation year this year (possibly not a great idea unless you have significant financial support - and if you got accepted to Year 1 you would probably find the foundation year not hugely helpful as they are often to bolster people's portfolios that were not up to scratch for immediate entry)

I think probably - you try and apply in clearing this year to somewhere you feel more confident about and if you don't find anything suitable then wait it out and apply in the next intake. Although hopefully someone with more experience in this area like @PQ will be able to advise you further since this isn't something I have a ton of experience with.
As above - can you give a bit more detail about your current situation - it's difficult to help you find the best option without some more information.

Don't worry about making a long post! It's an important decision for you so it's best to make sure you're making the best decision possible for you (and aren't setting yourself up for other problems later on).

Can you give more detail about why you withdrew from your other choices and what you like and dislike about Rave?
Are you in London this weekend? If so then it would be worthwhile seeing if you can get to GFW for one of the days to talk to different universities about their courses: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/graduate-fashion-week-2025-tickets-1304045508219?aff=oddtdtcreator

sorry, i should of made it more specific, i'm doing an access to higher education in art, which is a level 3 course in 1 year. i'm not under any funding for the course as i don't have an A level/ level 3 qualification. i might think of going towards the direction of looking out for clearing or reapplying next year. Thank you so for replying and sending someone else to help me

i had to withdrawn or been withdrawn from my applications as i could not find the time to finish the portfolio within the deadlines the universities have gave me, this being due the work i'm doing in my course (access to higher education art) not mostly of covering the portfolio requirements (i didn't have any fashion related work to add). i have to find time out lesson to do work for the portfolio and i don't have much free time to do so due to also working. ravensbourne was the only uni that gave enough time to finish it.
(i hope this makes sense)

the only problem i have with ravensbourne is the lack of information i have on the uni, i got to miss out on the open events for this uni and for other unis, so idk how it compares to others and idk if it's the right one for me.
I will definitely look into the gfw, hopefully that gear me into the right direction on what i want to do.

It’s worth contacting other universities that still have vacancies on UCAS  they don’t even have to have been in your original 5 choices.

Are there any universities that you liked? That might help us suggest some similar options.
