Hey @bro_leave_me_be!🌟

BSc Mathematics students are in demand from a wide range of employers in a host of occupations, including financial analysis, management, public administration and accountancy. The University of Essex can be proud of high employability rate - 89% of graduates are in highly skilled employment. If you would like to stand out even more, a year abroad or a placement year would be a great option to think about. I personally did a year abroad in Italy and it was truly one of the best experiences in my life!! So when it comes to job prospects I wouldn’t worry too much!!🎓🚀

As per you second question, in my opinion, combining two subjects rather than studying just one would give you more transferrable skills which employers are actively seeking. Regardless which degree you will choose, here at Essex your degree will develop your programming skills in languages such as Python and SQL, and you will learn to solve sophisticated problems using computational toolkits such as MATLAB, Maple and R. Overall, I would definitely suggest to opt for MSci Mathematics and Data Science since it will give you the opportunity to fast-track your degree and complete your final year in nine months, compared to a regular MSc which usually takes twelve months.📊💫

Hope this helps! In case you have any more questions regarding the degree or student life here at Essex, please do not hesitate to get in touch - I would be happy to help!😊

Best,
Essex Student Rep - Renaldas✌️
