How do I achieve an A star in Economics A level

I am currently doing edexcel economics and I am around an A/B grade. I would like to get an A star and I also plan to pursue an economics related degree (leaning towards public policy). What did you guys do to achieve an A star?

Practise writing essays (or planning them at least) and watch Econplusdal religiously. 😂

Only for definitions and formulas, at least that's how I used flashcards. The way you use flashcards may be different tho.

Everyone learns differently. I don't use flashcards. I find it more useful to build a solid understanding by answering questions. You'll know best what works for you.

What essay structure did you use for 25 markers? Would you recommend 2 or 3 main body paras?

Point, evidence, explain. I always aimed for three on average. However, for some essays you might want to have two points in greater detail. In that structure you should keep you point in a separate paragraph to avoid clutter, then put your evidence and explanation together to follow. If you can discuss in even greater detail, then it can work to keep al three as separate paragraphs.

You should start to get a feeling for how to make a good argument as you practise. Just don't switch the order of point, evidence, explain.

Your conclusion should link back to your intro (hence, you should always plan before writing). Summarise your strongest argument(s) in one sentence each, and any policy implications.
