Hey @Sarahtyer24 👋

I’m not super clued-up on this myself, so it might be worth chatting to someone at your college too but here’s a bit of info that might help you know what to ask! 😊

The Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Foundation Diploma in Animal Management is about the same as 1.5 A-levels. It’s a one-year course, usually for people who’ve done some Level 2 stuff already and want to either get straight into work or start an apprenticeship in animal care 🐾.

Then there’s the Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Animal Management with Science is that the one you’re moving on to? 🤔 It’s the equivalent of 3 A-levels and includes more science-based topics. This one’s great if you already know you want to work with animals, either straight away or after doing a degree 🧪🦎.
So yep, it’s definitely a step up and a progression! 🚀

If you finish that and want to go even further, you could apply for a uni course for example, Bangor University offers a really cool Zoology degree 🐒🧬. With your BTEC, they look for grades: DMM to DDD, including Merits in 4 Biology units.

Here’s the course info if you're interested:

Hope that helps a bit! Let me know if you want to chat more about it 🙂 Ffi
