Official UAL (University of the Arts London) Clearing Thread 2025
Clearing isn’t just a backup plan, it’s your chance to grab a last-minute spot on a world-leading course in the creative capital of London.
Hello everyone,
With the Clearing process for UAL just around the corner, we want to provide you with some important information on how to apply and what to expect.
What is Clearing?
Clearing provides an opportunity for universities to fill any remaining places on their courses. For 2025, the Clearing period will run from 5th July to 20th October, giving you time to apply if you don’t already have an offer from a university of if the course you’re interested in still has places available.
To be eligible for Clearing, you need to meet certain criteria, which include:
• Not having received any offers or not accepting the offers you received
• Not meeting the conditions of your existing offers
• Paying the multiple-choice application fee of £28.50
• Declining your firm place
You can find specific information about Clearing on the University of the Arts London website.
Want to apply via UCAS Extra?
Remember that the last date to add a UCAS Extra Choice to your existing UCAS application is 4th July. Any applications after this date will be made via UCAS Clearing.

hello, on the complete university guide website I saw that courses such as Fashion management and Fashion marketing were in clearing, however when I went on the UCAS website it was not there. I also tried to go onto the UAL website for clearing options but the website did not show anything, and on UCAS it says closed to apply in clearing. Does that mean it is full already, or it is only open for people to apply in clearing?

how does clearing work if I don’t meet my offers? I have already received an offer for my course (fashion sportswear) but I don’t know what I should do if I narrowly miss the offer

Hello,
Both courses offer great opportunities whoever they are quite different. The foundation year in the creative computing course if part of the actual course so when you apply, you will be studying for 3 of 4 years depending on if you choose the optional foundation year. Whereas the art and design foundation year is a course on its own and once that is completed, you will have to apply again to a UAL course, should you choose to further your studies to undergraduate level.

Hi, I just wanted to check if Clearing is still open for Architecture and Interior Design courses. I’ve been struggling to apply through Clearing and wasn’t sure if there’s another way to do it.
Is there still a chance to apply, and if so, how should I go about it? Also, is there a number I can call to speak with someone directly?

On all of the guides online it says that UAL clearing is closed, and when looking on the site there aren't any options available?
