Insurance Uni Accomodation

If i put a uni as insurance choice but would rather go to firm choice (which is close to home) and will only go to insurance if i dont meet grades, do i need to book accomodation for the insurance right now which is much further away from home while doing alevels or is that something i should do after i get my unis offers

Depends on the uni. Some of my choices only let you submit an accommodation application if they are your firm choice (unconditional or conditional) or you have fulfilled the offer's conditions and have chosen to go, whereas some let you apply even if they are the insurance choice. Then some universities only guarantee accommodation for firm choices, but do accept insurance choice applications.

Check their accommodation policies and deadlines to see if they would rather you wait until results day or if they encourage insurance applicants to apply, too.

Most don't accept insurance accommodation apps, from what I've seen.

[ So, If your insurance uni does accept apps despite not being firm choice or they encourage you to, then why not submit an accommodation application? ]

Submitting one does not suddenly mean you have to accept the course offer nor does it mean you have to accept the accommodation offer once given, soo why not? Do it for the peace of mind, if available.

Good luck though, hope you get into your firm choice 💫

You usually can't apply for accommodation until/if your Insurance becomes your Firm place on Results Day - you would be sent an email after Results Day about how to apply.
