Cardiff Medicine application

I'm planning to apply for medicine for 2026 entry and I've just been looking at admissions data for entry to Cardiff. Is it possible to attend Cardiff medical school with eight GCSE grade 8/9 and a 7. As it says on the website I'm reviewing, in the 2022 entry you require nine grade 8/9 minimum to get in. Can someone help as I'm looking to book open days.

Hi there,

For 2026 entry, the Medicine course page states that:

On your application you must provide evidence of:

•

English language or Welsh language at GCSE grade B/6 or an equivalent (if you require a Student visa, you must ensure your language qualification complies with UKVI requirements), and

•

GCSE Double Science at grades BB/66 (or grade B/6 in Biology and Chemistry separately), and

•

GCSE Maths grade B/6, and

•

five other GCSEs at grade B/6, or equivalent qualifications (level, subjects and grade).

You must also demonstrate an awareness of the healthcare system in the UK and the nature of the medical training in your personal statement.

So yes, dependent on your GCSE choices, you'd meet the entry requirements :biggrin:
