I answered an essay on the wrong topic HELP will i get zero marks ?!?

today i sat my OCR A Level Religious Studies Paper 1 Exam and there was a question about ontological argument. I was so stressed about this exam because Philosophy is my worst paper and i got in there and opened the question paper and nearly cried because i was so stress so i guess because of my hazy stressed out brain i mixed up the ontological argument with the cosmological argument and wrote a whole 7 sheet essay about if the cosmological argument justifies god or not intead of the ontological argument. these essay are worth 40 marks so do you think im iust gonna get a straight up 0/40 or is there anything i can do or anything i just realised right now and i just broke down crying i dont know what to do i will obviously try my best in the next two papers but all past two years ive been averaging a C and i dont know how the next two papers will go

If there was another question on the paper relating to the cosmological argument or some of your argument can be applied to the question you answered, you may well scrape some marks but unfortunately you're not going to get much and there's nothing that can be done now I'm afraid

in re they only like mark positively, so you wont get marked down at all. any places where you answered the question or included relevant scholars ect you will be credited. like if you used the phrase 'this proves the be the strongest argument' ect you will def be given marks. I wouldnt stress about it, you will def pick up marks where due and hopefully they are super kind!

Hi there, I was involved in marking papers last year and anyone who did not answer the question is likely to get 0/40

I think this happened with English Lit a while back when many people wrote between Mr and Mrs Birling. I think the examiners may give structural marks, but might take away content marks. They cannot give you 0/40 for writing something, but it might help to send them an email to see what can be done.

i dont think i evaluated enough for the other two questions tbh cause i was so excited at seeing ontological question (which my brain thought was the cosmological argument) that i was so focused on that question i only dont want to check if i wrote the other two questions right or not or i will actually have another breakdown about this paper so far have had like 10 breakdowns about it

You really weren't though, were you.

OP - I'm sure some of your essay will gain credit for relevant argument, even if tangental, to one of the questions on the paper. It's not going to score highly - obviously, but with any luck, not all is lost.
