Leyton Sixth Form College

Hey, I got given an interview slot for Leyton sixth form college on the 18th and was wondering what questions they ask and what to wear? I also don't know what questions I could ask about my courses. pls help xx

dont stress it, as someone who is leaving this college in a few months its so informal, obviously dont dress to revealing but a normal pair of jeans and a t shirt should be fine- I myself went in a pair of cargos and a hella kitty top,
Dont ask questions if you dont have any, though from my experience do a tiny but of research into what exam boards you want to use for your a level choices and make sure they match, I honestly wouldn't have picked Leyton if I knew prior they would change their biology a level exam board from ocr to Edexcel for my year group,
also if you have any questions you dont want to ask there, ask me! If I can't answer I will ask someone in the college on your behalf, good luck for the exciting start to your future!!

is lsc really that bad?? i was planning on enrolling tomorrow

LSC is NOT bad, they supported me amazingly, my english and psychology teachers were some of the best people and amazing at their jobs, however i wont lie about biology, it was very poor at teaching and the exam board is questionable - if you prepare yourself and study outside you will be fine i promise

thank you so much for this! i originally intended to go to laet but my gcses disappointed me. i was seriously scared!! should i be worried about psychology being eduqas as it is quite of an unknown examboard? also what made biology bad? was it the teachers?

psychology is amazing!! You’re going to do great and honestly very easy, biology yes mostly the teachers and there are not as many resources however i have found a list through my revision and i’m happy to send them to you! i just recommend making your own notes in Y12 as you’re taught A level content from the getgo and don’t really go over it again in Y13, If you’re motivated you’ll do amazing and hopefully won’t have the same teacher as me 🤣

thanks for replying!! i went to lsc this morning to enrol into biology chemistry and psychology and they were rejecting EVERYONE who was a grade lower than the requirement.. i saw a girl cry with a 7 in maths because she couldnt do biology and chem too. also the head of sciences was not very kind to me either.. he wasnt willing to hear me out at all because i achieved a 5 in maths instead of a 6 (which i am retaking because i was predicted higher) he told me that no matter how much i negotiated with him he was always going to reject me but i still tried. what i did find quite rude of him was that he offered me to speak to the head of sciences and when i accepted the offer, he waved his landyard at me (i almost cried and walked away x)

im so so sorry you had that experience, if you’re comfortable sharing his name ill file a complaint on your behalf, ill keep it completely quiet and just relay what you said, thats not acceptable genuinely!
