Bristol University Law - Bad GCSEs

Really want to go to Bristol University for Law

Predicted A*AA. Got 9877766543 in GCSE
9 - Eng Lit
8 - History
7 - Eng Lang
7 - Geog
7 - RE
6 - Maths
6 - Chem
5 -Bio
4 - French
3 - Classics
Predicted/expecting A/A* in EPQ,
A ‘strong’ PS with multiple work exp’s, MOOCs, essay comps, books, podcasts etc

BUT, worried my GCSE’s aren't good enough? They don't have any specific grades for GCSE but expectthey want maj 7s, 8s, 9s’ but I don't have this…. Also prepping hard LNAT as it’s 40:40:20 (LNAT: a level: GCSE). Going to buy Arbitio, and using the ‘The Ultimate LNAT Guide’ book and the ‘Testing Series: LNAT’ books.

Please any advice?!

I replied to your other post about this I think but how on earth do you get sources and resources to be able to do your epq. I have no teachers that have experience with it so I may be left on my own. What was your question on? Also how do u get it marked? Sorry for the questions!!!

I've ruled out Bristol and I think it was either ucl or another one that needed the lnat. How hard is it from someone who doesn't have any law experience?

It seems extremely hard

GCSEs arent that deep, A levels, personal statement and supercuriculads are like 90% more important

No-one who does the LNAT has law experience 😭, it’s a test of logic and critical thinking not law

You can practice it with Arbitio, lots of books and videos - don’t worry, it’s the same for everyone haha

Your GCSEs are fine. Mines were arguably worse and I know people who have gotten into Bristol law with a far worse set of GCSEs results.

I guess it also depends on whether you’re a contextual applicant or not.

All you need to do is focus on your LNAT. You need a solid score and good essay.

There’s a few mock LNAT tests online that you can use. Those are similar levels in difficulties.

Thanks so much: very reassuring. Will focus on the LNAT. Also looking at non LNAT Unis for backup.

does anyone know how the 20-40-40 weightings actually work? like what gcses give you what out of 20, what a levels give you what out of 40 and what score on the lnat gives you what out of 40
