do i lose marks for not writing dx?

a level edexcel maths - do i lose marks for not writing dx while doing integration?

Honestly as annoying as it is I think you would because it's a really important part of integration and explains what you are integrating in what respect. It's kind of like forgetting the +c at the end.

Not sure. Sometimes it is omitted from the integral if the integrand is clear and the integration variable is obvious. If it was a done the odd time without a follow on error, Id guess the marker would regard it as a minor error which wouldnt be penalised. If it was done consistently and the marker thought it showed a lack of understanding, theyd probably penalize it.
