Uni of Edinburgh medicine GCSEs

Sorry if this has been asked already but I know barely anything about this uni as I'm only now looking into it.
I was wondering if they are strict on GCSE grades as I got 6-6 in science (combined) and I paid to retake maths for a higher grade but I'm not sure if they don't accept resits or if I could still get in based on Alevel grades? Thanks for any help.

If you don't meet their requirements then probably won't accept you if you don't have extenuating circumstances. Have you spoken to the admissions team?

Yes, they do care about GCSEs - especially for a competitive course such as medicine. It won't make a huge impact but it won't be nothing. Here is what they say on their website: "Some of our subject areas are particularly competitive and attract many highly qualified applicants. In these circumstances, we may consider the number of A*s or grade 8/9s you have achieved at GCSE, alongside your A Level grades."
Not to say you can't get in as long as you meet the requirements, just accept you may have to make up for it in other areas.
