Does ink colour matter?

I was in class when one of my friends turned in work with blue ink. Our teacher said she was going to mark him down for using blue ink and next time he used it he would have to redo the assignment. She didn't say what colour ink to use on the assignment (which was written using ChatGPT but that's a whole other story), and her reason for marking him down: she doesn't like blue ink. There's also no school policy on it.

I thought it's pretty standard to use black ink in school but it's quite weird to mark him down on an assignment just because of a pen colour.

She sounds like a nut job with some issue with blue ink, though it's probably easier to do what she asks and use black in future. The only reason for prefering black over blue is that black can show up better on scans, but this is an internal assessment (presumably), so scanning shouldn't really be an issue.

I would probably just go along with the teachers wishes, obviously this is just silly but not worth the hassle.

Of course avoid colours where people have issues regarding colour blindness or similar specific sight issues, but for traditional dark blue ive never heard of this being an issue.

you can use blue or black. Teachers prefer black but if she's marking him down that's a problem
