Hi @xstalx 👋
It's awesome that you're already thinking ahead about getting a job before you even arrive at Bangor 💼💪
You're right – you won’t be able to log in to the uni's jobs portal until you've officially enrolled and received your student login. They will be in touch soon, they're probably dealing with a lot of queries right now (just before graduation). But don’t worry! There are
lots of opportunities waiting once you get here:
🔸
Welcome Week is a great time to find out about on-campus jobs – there’s a big fair where different departments and employers promote student roles.
🔸 Look out for the
Student Ambassador scheme – you get paid to represent the uni at Open Days, help out with events, create social media content, and more. It's super flexible around your studies.
🔸 The
uni’s catering outlets often hire students too – think coffee shops, cafes, bars etc. It’s a great way to meet people and earn some cash 💸
🔸 In second year, you can also apply to be a
Campus Life crew member or a mentor – these roles come with perks like free accommodation in halls in exchange for supporting other students.
I worked a few different jobs during my time here, so I’d be happy to share tips or send you some useful links. Would you rather I DM you some info instead of posting emails and stuff here publicly?
Let me know 😊
