What universities accept clearing or resits for finance?

I think I’ve done really bad in these Alevels so far. What universities would accept clearing or resits for accounting and finance.

Hey Bobjones3738! 😊
First things first don’t panic and try not to be too hard on yourself 💛. Whatever happens, there are loads of options, and honestly, Clearing can be a really great opportunity to find the perfect course for you! 🎓✨
You might have actually done better than you think in your exams 🤞 and if that’s the case, there’s still a chance you’ll get into your first-choice uni. But even so, it’s a good idea to check out Clearing before results day, just to be prepared for anything (even if you’ve smashed it! 💥).
👉 Clearing opens on 5th July, and you’ll be able to see which unis and courses are available on the UCAS website from that day.
When you're researching, focus on finding a university that suits you somewhere that feels like the right vibe 🌈. If you're looking into Finance, you'll find it offered at loads of unis across the UK, so there are plenty of choices 💼💡.
And if you don’t quite get the grades you were hoping for (it happens to lots of people!), you could think about doing a foundation year it's a great way to get into uni life without needing to resit A-levels 🎒✨. At Bangor University, we offer foundation years in most courses, including Finance!

🔗 You can actually register your interest in Clearing with Bangor University now, so I'm guessing you'll be able to do it with loads of other universities as well https://www.bangor.ac.uk/clearing

Whatever happens on results day, you’ve got this 💪. Keep your options open, take a deep breath, and remember you’re not alone 💙. We're here to help!

Thanks

Bangor : "Clearing opens on 5th July, and you’ll be able to see which unis and courses are available on the UCAS website from that day."

No it wont tell you what will be available in August Clearing.
Because no-one knows what will be in Clearing until the A level Results are actually released.
July Clearing is a last minute trawl by the Unis for mainly International applicants who get their results early.

Thanks so much for pointing that out! 😊

You're totally right, and I really appreciate the correction 💬 this is honestly what makes The Student Room such a brilliant place. I’m still pretty new here (just my third week!) so it’s super helpful when people pick up on things like this. 🙏

Just to clarify for anyone else reading here’s what it says on the UCAS website about Clearing:
"Clearing is how unis and colleges fill any places they still have on their courses. From 5 July 20 October 2025, you can apply for a course using Clearing if you’re not already holding an offer from a university or college, and the course still has places."

You can use Clearing if:

you’re applying after 30 June

you didn’t receive any offers (or none you wanted to accept)

you didn’t meet the conditions of your offers

you’ve declined your firm place using the ‘decline my place’ button in your application

Clearing officially runs from 5 July to 20 October 2025.

If you're using Clearing on results day, you can add your choice in your UCAS Hub from:

1pm on 14 August (JCQ results day)

10am on 5 August (SQA results day)

Hope that helps clear things up for anyone else too! 💡 TSR is such a great place to learn and share thanks again! 💙✨

Hi

Lets hope that you do better than expected. Which universities did you apply to previously? I think most would accept retakes for A+F. The courses in clearing seem to vary a lot year by year.
