stressing out over exam booking

hi, im currently in yr 13 and im planning to take a gap year to do history CAIE in november. the results will be released in january, right before the UCAS deadline, so its important i recieve my results immediately to put on my application otherwise ill end up losing an entire year (applying for oxford foundation year so no post deadline applications)

im planning to do this through using tutors and exams, as they support the november series for CAIE. looking at online reviews however im noticing a recurrent theme of complaints about changing exam schedules without notice, poor/no communication from the staff, and most concerningly the lack of exam results for weeks or even months after the results shouldve been released.

this is really starting to stress me out as ive got to book the exam before september. im really just looking for anyone whos booked their exam with tutors and exams and had a positive experience, or booked it with any other private exam group that might be helpful. i know colleges will usually take private students too, but the JQC website wont show a list of schools that accept CAIE, so id also highly appreciate if anyone knows of one. thanks in advance

You don't have to know your results before you apply for University.
That is the whole point of Conditional offers - 'conditional on achieving the following grades...' - and taking an extra subject in a gap-year is no different.

i suppose thats true, but the problem then is trying to figure out how to arrange predicted grades. i know tutors and exams offers papers to predict them, but then we run into the same issue. is it possible to hire tutors or a college or something to arrange them? also thanks for replying, i really appreciate it. pretty much all the threads regarding this topic here are completely empty, this was like a last hail mary for me

Is the A level History grade critical to your UCAS application? What degree subject are you applying for?
Presumably you took 3 other A levels this year - what are your grade expectations?

i took four, maths, physics, computer science and chemistry, with B,A*,A*,A predictions. i chose them because i figured stem subjects would be the most beneficial and i wasnt in the best place economically back then, and only after a year i realised that my real passion was in the humanities and history. despite my grades, my odds of getting into a good uni are pretty poor without an essay subject, so unfortunately this grade is absolutely critical to my application. i know i really did shoot myself in the foot, but figuring this out is my best shot at getting back on track

Try not to stress out and maintain control over the here and now. Lower expectations and don't put your entire mental stock into one thing because that'll make you feel worse. Focus on other things too. There's always a way forward.

i really hope so, but i just cant bring myself to take that on faith. i dont have anyone to talk to about this, so i guess the plan now is just keep searching the internet until i find something, or wait for a reply here from someone who might know something
