Clearing success stories

People who have gone through clearing, did you manage to get a place into your desired course? What was it and what grades did you manage to get in with?

not me but my brother needed AAA to get to bath architecture and didn't want to go to his insurance bc he got rejected from doing architecture at other unis, he got offers for different courses - so he applied for clearing and got into Newcastle for architecture with AAB

Hi @i_ir05 ,

Although I haven't went through clearing myself, I do work the clearing phone lines in august and help prospective students get a place at university.

There were loads of people who got accepted through clearing, however those applying for super competitive courses, like medicine, did have to apply for alternative courses, like medical sciences of bio med.

Your ability to get in really varies depending on the university and course, but if you're flexible your likely to find a spot!

If your planning to go through clearing early or on results day, I recommend having a list of universities ready to call that you are happy to attend. Furthermore look into some alternative courses they may offer.

I hope this helps, please feel free to ask me any questions,

Hey , this is not about my own personal clearing story but I have worked as a clearing assistant on my campus during the summers of my first and second year .In both summers I managed to give plenty of offers to applicants for their desired courses who qualified for them , in some cases I may have had to give offers for foundation courses or the next best most related course that applicants applied for .
I've given offers to applicants studying Radiography , pharmacy , engineering , architecture , psychology , business and everything in between in the last two years and it's always amazing to be apart of people's success story . And I have seen first hand how clearing helps people as a last resort to get into university .
If you have any questions about clearing , please feel free to ask and I can give you some insight from both sides , as a student/ applicant and as a clearing processor.

I hope this helps .
