ADVICE NEEDED - Oxford for English Lit

Hi all, recently I've been wondering what the requirements would be for studying English Language and Literature at Oxford University. Of course its extremely competitive and all so I wanted to receive input about the types of students actually being accepted there for this subject.
I am currently working at A* and A in my subjects : English Lit, History, and Psychology. I also do an EPQ.
These are my GCSE grades, which I'm not sure are strong enough.
History - 8
Art - 6
Maths - 5
English Lang - 8
English Lit - 7
Comb Science - 7-6
Food technology - 9
Spanish - 5

I have been collecting various things for my personal statement over the course of the year + of course will do other activities during the summer. However, despite the fact that I could be flagged for contextual data, I'm not really sure and need advice. My friend who previously looked at Camb and is now looking to Royal Vet College tells me that I could go for it - but I need wider input.

Thank you!

GCSE's are only one part of the application process, and it should be taken in the context of the average GCSE grade achieved by students at your school. An example of your written work is also a requirement and you may want to ask your teachers whether the structure and content of your essays might be improved. When writing your personal statement, be reflective on what you have learned from your subject exploration. Perhaps the most important advice is to read widely, and read literary criticism. Hope this helps.
