Politics or maths?

I'm lowkey so indecisive as to what im taking as a 3rd a level. Im 100% doing bio and chem, but for my 3rd im caught between politics and maths. I'd say i'm not too bad at either essay or stem subjects, but the 25 markers kind of scare me in politics and the maths mechanics paper seems evil. Can anyone who does either of these subjects give a non biased argument for them?

What about Economics or Geography that sits between essays and science / maths subjects?

Do you have any ideas about a possible degree subject or career?
STEM focussed, or something else? And why Politics?

oh if i had to do geography for a second time, i might actually go insane. I have no love left for that subject in my heart. Economics seems good though, i might check it out but i'm not even sure if my choice 6th form offers it.

I want to go into medicine (BORING I KNOW), pharmacy or teaching. I mainly want to do politics because I find political systems really interesting to study. Like, voting systems and the different roles of MPs really interests me, also because for the ideological study you get to choose between quite a large range and that really interests me.

Check the entry requirements for Medicine carefully - Chem and Bio is fine, and usually the 3rd subject only matters for the grade, so if you think you will enjoy Politics and therefore are likely to get that vital 3rd A grade, it should be fine. MPharm also usually only requires Chemistry and one other STEM subject.

I think i have different entry requirements for different universites. For two of the ones i want to go do its AAB (contextual offer) but for another one i would like to go to its A*AA. The thing is im not sure exactly if it'd be easier to get an A in maths or in politics. The idea i have is that it's much easier to improve in maths due to the sheer amount of resources online for it, but politics doesnt even have much resources. But then again, i hear that maths grade boundaries are raised massively by the FM lot as well so its not clear which one has more pros and cons

Have you looked at the Politics course units that your school actually teaches within the syllabus?
This could influence your decision.

As someone that did Politics Biology and Maths something to consider is that at A Level as you are doing so much more of each subject with less variety you do find that doing just STEM subjects becomes a bit much if that makes sense? Like I really loved Biology A Level but I think part of why I liked it so much is because I had Politics there to balance me out, so when I became a bit sick of just science or just humanities I could switch. Although I agree with others that Maths may look better on an application form for Medicine perhaps, but Politics would teach you essay writing and analytical skills that could certainly come in handy at university.

If you can, do 4 subjects then drop 1 if it gets too much.
