offer grades

i was given a conditional offer of AAB for ncl uni but im guessing ill get A*AC on results day. these r both the same amount of ucas points (136) but i get that ncl only considers actual grades

has anyone in this situation been accepted by newcastle? or do u strictly have to reach the grades in ur offer?

Totally depends on the day how many people hit their offers and how competitive the course is. Call them up on results day

Yes, you might still be accepted but it's at the unis discretion. Here is a guide as to what happens on results day:

NB. You only need to call them if there is no decision on hub, or if you've been rejected and want to discuss another course. Any rejection for the original course will be final.

Hi @arises,

At Newcastle, our offers are based on grades in three A Levels, rather than cumulative UCAS Tariff points. This means that we don’t necessarily consider *A*AC* as equivalent to *AAB* at A Level.

If, when your A Level results are released, you do not quite meet your offer conditions, we will consider you a ‘near-miss’ applicant. In this scenario, all applicants who met their offer conditions would receive their place. For any places we have left over, we will reconsider all ‘near-miss’ applicants and look to place the most promising applicants.
