Grade lower than expected

I have applied to university of leicester and was given a contextual offer ABC which is a grade lower than usual, they require me to have BC between my finance and computer science A Level. And a Distinction in my Btec Law. Im hopefully going to get D* in law, and possibly an A* in my finance, however I was wondering what would happen if I were to get a D in my Computer science. Would they still consider accepting me with distinction star, A* and D, or would they require me to have the C minimum.

what course did you apply for? You have time to not get the D I would say don't worry about results and focus on revision and in some cases depending on how popular the course is, ofc how close ur grades were and some other factors they still accpet you

I have applied for computer science for university, which is quite ironic since its the one which im not the best at but i enjoy it. I was just worried i might not get the C they want, however im 3 grades higher than what they are asking for in my other two subjects, so I thought they could possibly let that off?

they might do, it honestly depends on the uni but considering its the subject you want to study they probs want you to meet the requirement so it won't matter to them if you have an a* in law if you want to cs, and maybe ask yourself why you're not currently good at it (e.g its difficult) cus at uni it wont get easier. so maybe consider doing something you're good at and you enjoy e.g Finance or law cus you're doing well in them or identify the barrier causing you to not do well in cs so you can improve.

Hello @darin23

I am sorry to hear your grades are lower than expected. Right now, I would advise you to continue to focus on any remaining exams or if they are all done, use this time from now until A Level results day as a bit of a holiday period, you deserve it. After A Level results day things will get busier as you start to prepare for university.

Neither I nor anyone from the University of Leicester can say whether you would or would not still get in because we have not yet seen your grades as well as the grades of all the applicants in a whole. It is also important that GCSEs, particularly English Language and Mathematics, are also very important, especially if you do give us a call in clearing. Talking of which, if you don't get in, we would still encourage you to call us in clearing as depending on how popular the course is there may be clearing places of various different entry requirements throughout the clearing period.

I hope this helps. If you have any further questions please do let me know.
